The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The big breakfast was a bargain and included tea. The portions were large and none of us could finish all of our meals. Will definitely be back.
Knife & Fork Restaurant
About this place
Knife & Fork Restaurant anchors a corner of Monroe with the kind of hospitality Platefolk looks for: a family-friendly room, an easygoing pace, and a room that does not try too hard.
The menu keeps attention on what the kitchen actually cooks well: coffee, plates built for sharing, and the kitchen's daily strengths. Coffee and pastry get the same care as the savory side. Portions and pacing favor a real meal, not a tasting-room sprint.
Bring friends who like unhurried meals, or come solo with a book and a long drink. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 1201 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
Put simply: Knife & Fork Restaurant is a Monroe place we would send a friend to - especially if they care about coffee done with care.
Before you visit, skim recent neighbor notes on the listing and confirm hours on the door. Platefolk keeps this page as a field guide, not a frozen brochure - the best proof is still sitting down for a meal.
What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a Knife & Fork Restaurant visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

Quick stop on our way to Charlotte and it did not disappoint! We were seated right away and our food was served hot and quick! Great mom and pop place. You can tell the locals love it.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5
Food was great the waitress was so nice even the casher was nice we really enjoyed our self. Thank u for great service.
In my personal opinion I don’t think it was as good as the Charlotte location. They don’t have space for large parties( more than 4 people) but the staff is friendly and on point.
Dirty and run down. Food was baseline. I shouldn't have to cut my pancakes with a knife. Biscuits were good. The cheese.in my eggs tasted and felt like Kraft singles yellow gloppy stuff that wasn't truly melted. Paper thing bacon..
Mom & pop restaurant southern style.Portions are nice, prices are fair, service is good, but I didn't like my dish which was the barbecue plate. The mashed potatoes tasted funny, and both the green beans and the barbecue meat were too salty.I have been trying to go to local restaurants, but I won't return there.
After over 30 years... We returned to Knife and Fork while travelling through. The staff was phenomenal. The food was great. And most importantly, they say our very large party and got every order quickly and accurately.
